So you want to earn cash online or to set up a legitimate online business - well let's provide you with some useful information rather than the selling hype on most of the sites you will have seen. 
Many people are keen to earn cash online and consequently there are many 'sharks' in these waters. Bad guys (and gals) who know that there are some needy people out there who can be exploited.
So first let's consider how we might spot the scammers.

They will often tell you how the site owner was thousands of dollars in debt and living in a trailer park/shack/car. Then they came across this amazing and unique way of making thousands a week online and they are going to tell you exactly how to do it too. These people may well be making thousands a week but they are doing so by selling people like you and me useless 'information'.The price of these 'secret' systems varies from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR MONEY - THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS. One clue that a site is owned by a scammer is that the site is full of red type with yellow 'highlighting' over some of the text and loads of check marks. If these people were earning so much money, they should have the funds to hire a good web designer instead of buying a garish, off the peg, site that looks just like all the other scam sites. There will often be a 'warning' that the price quoted can only be offered today/this week/this month and is then going to increase. Believe me, it won't. Don't fall for that one. If you ever find yourself tempted in spite of this advice, just keep hitting the back button when you get to the 'sign up' page. You will find that the price is suddenly reduced maybe to a 'family and friends' price! Hit the back button once again and you may find that the site owner is prepared to give you some additional 'freebies' as well. I often feel that if only I keep hitting the back button, one day I will find a site owner who will offer to give it away free, pay for my kids to go through college and clean my house every week!!Learn to Touch-Type for FREE If you cannot touch-type already, learn to do it. It is a life-skill that we can all easily acquire. If you use a computer on a regular basis, and certainly if you intend to earn cash online - YOU SHOULD DO IT. Lists of Companies Recruiting Online Workers - Some companies ask for a fee to provide the names of companies looking for people to work at home online. DO NOT PAY FOR LISTS OF COMPANIES that might use your services nor for 'training' for example in data entry. Using these keywords is certainly not going to guarantee that you will find an honest site providing real information but it slightly increases your chances of doing so. If you have a marketable skill that can be used at home (for example - web design) then you are probably going to find a genuine opportunity to work from home if you look hard and long enough. If you do NOT have any such skill and are looking at 'type at home' or 'data input' work then beware. Online MLM Most of the online MLM websites that I have seen seem to be selling some kind of course or e-book. Some of these seem to be just offering advice on how to sell the system that you just bought! This seems very close to 'pyramid selling' to me. Some 'products' are investment guides for high earners, the idea being that you and your 'downline' will need this information because of all the money you will be earning from the system (oh, yeah, right!). Some are courses on how to get online traffic to a website but this sort of information is freely available from this site among many others (see below) DON'T DO IT.
